Butterfly Room (Babies)

This month the babies have been looking at autumn animals, squirrel and fox. They have enjoyed colouring autumn wreath, hedgehog and squirrel and they have been very creative this month making foxes and owl out of their junk modelling and identifying key features like eyes, nose, and feathers. They have enjoyed soft play, building towers, laughing with friends and practicing counting. We have also been enjoying musical instruments, hearing different sounds and using their touch to create different sounds. They have enjoyed stacking rings to help with our hand–eye coordination, learning new words like big, small and colours of the rings.

Watch out for the butterflies next month…

As they will be exploring various physical activities and enjoying a lot of water play. They will also be engaging in transport role play experimenting with different sounds and buttons. They will also engage in activities that will support the use of their finger grips.

Bumblebee Room (Toddlers)

The bumblebee children have been looking at their sense of smell and touch and have explored the various textures (soft hard, rough, slimy)of different objects and were able to express what they feel. We have been able to express our preferences while smelling mint, pineapple, ginger and orange. They have enjoyed messy play with shaving foam as they explored different sea animals and they have learned the name of each animal (penguin, whale, polar bear) and have also been counting how many the animals are to support the development of our mathematics skills.

Next month in bumblebee room, the toddlers will be…

The children will be exploring various physical development activities such as balancing as it helps us to have better coordination and body awareness and helps to develop their core strength which is required for healthy posture. It also helps us develop better concentration for sitting and paying attention in class. Watch out!

Ladybird Room (Pre-school)

This month the preschoolers have been our learning about on the sense of sound and we’ve explored sound by playing with various instruments like drums, tambourines, trumpets, maracas, castanets as well as making our own shakers using cardboard tubes. They decorated it by sticking tissue paper and filling it with dry broken spaghetti. This has helped them to learn turn taking, collaborate and express themselves through music. They have been looking at how they can be superheroes at home or at school by talking about their very own super power of being caring, kind, strong, nice, polite, funny, sharing and tidy. We’ve been creative and have enjoyed decorating our own superhero puppet stick using different arts and crafts materials. We have been number threading to learn our numbers as well as strengthening our fine motor muscle skills as we pick up and manipulate the numbers. They have enjoyed jolly phonics this month as we focusing on phonic letters ‘p’ 'i' and 'n'.

Next month the Ladybirds will be…

Exploring numbers and quantities during circle time talking about more than and less then by trying to see if they can identify more and less when a group of objects is given to them. They will also continue developing their gross motor skills by practising catching large balls in the big garden and lots more.

This month the babies have enjoyed musical instruments, responding to music. We’ve been getting lots of practice crawling and running outside in the garden. We have also been very creative by making leaf printing pictures, learning the colours red, yellow and orange. We've been colouring fruits and repeating single words after our teachers. We’ve enjoyed looking at books, listening to teachers’ different tones during story time outside in the castle. We have enjoyed role-play with happy land people, animals and small world, sharing toys and using our imagination. We continued looking at autumn using red, orange and brown colours, creating and collecting leaves.
